Whilst it's all well and good to use your toaster as a timer, it won't be much help if you are cooking an egg without toast. I'm putting together a simple timings chart taking into account the size and temperature of the egg.

An Ostrich egg takes about an hour to boil (thanks Rach - Derby). An osterich egg is the equivalent of about two dozen hen eggs. It's nearly impossible to poach an egg at high altitude... many more to come.
